Ashley Stack is our Mischief Athlete of the Month for December 2019. Although Ashley is an original Mischief Member, she actually started participating in CrossFit two years before we opened our doors. After she stopped dancing—a sport she did competitively for eighteen years—Ashley tried to stay healthy by replicating Pinterest workouts at XSport. It was not quite cutting it, though, so after consulting with her father, she decided to sign up for CrossFit. Ashley does not consider herself athletic, but we have seen her make excellent fitness strides at CrossFit Mischief. When she started CrossFit, Ashley was performing jumping pull ups as a modification for pull ups in workouts; today, she can cycle upwards of five butterfly pullups, and ring muscle-ups are just around the corner. Ashley excels at core work and squatting movements. In addition to performing muscle-ups on the bar and rings, her fitness goals include improving on the various cardio implements, like running and rowing.
Ashley grew up locally in Batavia, and she currently works as a 1st Grade teacher at Hermes Elementary School in East Aurora. As a child, Ashley knew she wanted to work with little kids. In addition to educating them in a classroom setting, she has played a major role in introducing them to fitness by running our CrossFit Kids program. She has also applied her CrossFit skills in local competitions, where she has taken on new challenges with her friend and fellow Mischief Member Sammy Balint. Outside of the gym context, Ashley enjoys playing with her nieces and nephew, chasing around her young puppy, Miley, and going out for drinks and dancing with her friends. (Ashley’s ideal WOD at CrossFit Mischief would be a Midnight Dance Party.) Thank you for always being a positive presence at class, Ashley, and congratulations!
