December Member of the Month
Congratulations to Jake, our Mischief Member of the Month for December, 2022. Jake has been at Mischief about a year and a half now, joining because he wanted a little more of a challenge with his workouts that he was doing with his dad and wanted to include a little more cardio. Jake is always a positive member when in the gym (except for when Arianne puts too much of a movement he doesn't like in the workout). Jake still pushes it his hardest in each class and is always receptive to coaching cues. Jake also does his best to be consistent with his workouts each week, whether in the gym or at home. Jake is only 17 and we look forward to seeing what Jake can achieve is his just beginning fitness journey and hope he continues with CrossFit for years to come.
What motivated you to start CrossFit?
My motivation for starting CrossFit was my dad. We would workout together all the time, but the workouts had no cardio and CrossFit opened up a new level of fitness for me.
How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I’ve been doing CrossFit for about a year and a half, and I’m super happy I joined.
How has CrossFit improved your daily life?
CrossFit has improved my daily life as it has gotten me in better overall shape, but it has also been a place to relieve all my stresses, and when I finish a workout I always feel really good.
How do you stay consistent with your training?
I’m not always the most consistent person in the gym, but even when I can’t make it to the gym, I will use the past workouts or make up my own CrossFit workout for me to do on my own. When I do make it to the gym consistently, the feeling of completing a workout while giving full effort definitely keeps me going.
What do you like most about CrossFit Mischief?
What I like most about CrossFit mischief is the people and the trainers. The trainers are awesome and are really nice about accepting that everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. The people are awesome and even though I’m one of the youngest people there, I feel like I still can connect with everyone.
What is one goal you hope to achieve with joining CrossFit?
One goal I hope to achieve with CrossFit is to beat Coach Chris in a workout😁
Favorite CrossFit exercise?
My favorite exercise would have to be strict pull ups, running, or bench press.
Favorite healthy snack?
My favorite healthy snack is… I don’t have one because I’m 17 and I can really eat anything.
Favorite cheat food?
Favorite cheat food would be cheesecake or anything that my grandma bakes. Especially over the holidays, I feel like I need to do about 5 CrossFit workouts in one day just to get my weight back to normal.
One Interesting fact about yourself?
One interesting fact would be that my Murph time was 2 minutes and 17 seconds (okay, maybe just slightly slower). Another interesting fact is that I love to play poker (Texas Holdem)
